Taskbed is a marketplace platform based in Abuja, Nigeria connecting clients with local service providers. References to "we", "us", or "Taskbed" in this policy refer to the Taskbed platform and its operators.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Account data: name, email address, phone number, and password (hashed).
Profile data (providers): business name, profile photo, service category, town, area, bio, years of experience, NIN, and CAC registration number.
Service request data: service description, location, preferred date, urgency level, and photos.
Payment data: bank account details provided for payout (providers only). We do not store card or full payment account details for clients.
Usage data: pages visited, actions taken, device type, and approximate location (if you grant permission).
Communications: messages and support correspondence sent to or through Taskbed.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

Create and manage your Taskbed account.
Match clients with suitable service providers.
Process payments and manage payouts to providers.
Send transactional notifications (job updates, invoices, booking confirmations).
Verify provider identity and prevent fraud.
Resolve disputes and provide customer support.
Improve the platform based on usage patterns.
Comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Sharing

We share personal data only where necessary:

Between clients and providers: when a job is assigned, the provider receives the client's name, phone number, address, and job details.
Service providers (third parties): we use Resend for email delivery, Supabase for database hosting, and Vercel for platform hosting. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
Legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law or a court order.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we retain minimal data required for legal and fraud prevention purposes for up to 2 years, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Taskbed account.

Taskbed uses essential cookies to manage your login session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as only strictly necessary cookies are set.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
